This results-driven seminar is produced for all police personnel who want to develop and use realistic police performance measures. It includes COMPSTAT and other methods of performance measurement.
The seminar consists of three, highly interactive eight-hour modules as follows:
- Measurement Techniques: This day begins with an overview of qualitative and quantitative methods of measuring police performance. It explores ways of reducing resistance to changes that occur when introducing new and different systems for analyzing productivity.
- Building Measurement Systems: This session defines procedural steps required to design, implement, and deploy a valid measurement program. Case examples are examined along with the use of structured exercises.
- Performance Reporting: The focus today is on translating the measurement technology into reliable decisions about police operations, resource allocation, and fiscal requirements.
